It seems like Foxit Reader has become much more than I need or can handle. I only need to be able to open and read a PDF file, maybe print a page once in a while. It seems this is too much for my system and it chokes. Just the Updater is 5.5 MB which is closer to the size of other programs I am running. I see the main program is 47 MB which is many times bigger than any other program I am running. Maybe it has compatibility issues with Win XP or with older machines. Add the accesory programs like the updater and it seems too much for my poor old system. It seems to me the Reader has gone the same way as Acrobat and has become too big, bulky and bloated. It will open a one page document but if I give it a long document with many pages it just hangs and the OS Task Manager reports 'program not responding' so I have to kill it. I have downloaded and installed Foxit Reader 8.0.0.624 and it will not run correctly. Now I have just reinstalled the OS and reinstalled all the applications. Initially, years ago, I used Acrobat Reader but it got to be too bulky and bloated and I eventually changed over to Foxit reader which workrd well for some time. I am running Win XP Pro SP3 on an old system with Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E6700 Dual-Core 3200 MHz, 2 GB RAM.

Cant install foxit reafer on xp machine
